We are STEM Teachers
Transforming
Science Education
STEM Leadership Center is a 5013c nonprofit dedicated to helping reverse the trend in sharply declining science and math aptitude in American students.
By partnering with STEM industry leaders, SLC provides STEM teaching fellowships for 7-12 educators. Fellowship educators partner with SLC master practitioners for after school and summer classroom sessions earning national recognition by the US Department of Education. Partnerships include community organizations such as the YMCA. Under represented communities are a priority.

Youth Programs
inspiring the next generation of innovators
We design and teach hands-on after-school and summer STEM programs for Pre K–8 students, especially in underserved communities, helping kids build confidence and real-world skills. Recognized nationally for excellence, SLC empowers students to see themselves as future scientists, engineers, and problem solvers.
Teacher Fellowships
thrive in an ever-evolving scientific world
Our STEM Fellowship programs empower science educators to become experts in both scientific practice and pedagogy. By bridging the gap between classroom teaching and the professional world of science, fellows gain real-world context, advanced instructional strategies, and leadership capacity.

The Problem
Nearly all elementary school teachers have little to no background or training in science. Millions of middle school kids are being taught science by teachers who do not understand science content, pedagogy & STEM integration. While all science teachers grade 7-12 have a science degree, all have little to no professional science experience.
